Our Recruitment Approach

We understand the importance of our staff in providing the highest standard of care. Therefore, our recruitment process is rigorous and robust, ensuring that we bring on board only the most qualified, compassionate, and reliable individuals.

Comprehensive Vetting Process

All potential employees undergo an in-depth face-to-face interview followed by an extensive vetting process. This process involves:

  • Forwarding an application to the Barring and Disclosure Service for a check.
  • Obtaining written references from the last two employers of the candidate.
  • Reviewing a candidate’s full employment history, ensuring all employment gaps are duly accounted for.
  • Verifying the candidate’s identity, personal address, and, if necessary, their work permit status.
  • Confirming qualifications, training certificates, and the declaration of physical and mental fitness.
  • Checking the candidate’s immunisation status.

Ongoing Training and Review

Once recruited, our employees are enrolled in an induction programme and mandatory training. We believe in continuous professional development and equip our employees with the necessary skills to excel in their respective roles. Our training includes but is not limited to:

  • Health and safety
  • Fire prevention
  • First aid and basic life support
  • Infection control
  • Food hygiene
  • Safeguarding
  • Moving and handling
  • Medication management
  • Policies and procedures

Each of our employees undergoes annual reviews to ensure their skills continue to meet the needs of our clients. New recruits, especially those without prior experience, are supported through shadowing and supervision.

For clients with specific clinical needs, we ensure our staff have the requisite training and experience. We also provide specialised training as needed to meet individual client needs.

Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement

At Bright Horizons, we adopt a proactive approach to learning and development. We monitor each individual’s progress through close observation, classroom assessments, and regular reviews, enabling us to foster personal growth and high-quality care.
